Patrick Maloy is a third generation Floridian born and raised in West Palm Beach, Florida. Mr. Maloy was with a firm specializing in pari-mutuels, utility regulation, insurance regulation and corporate law from January 1995 to July 2000 and is a graduate of the Florida State University College of Law.
After graduating with honors from the University of Florida in 1987, Patrick accepted an internship with the Florida House of Representatives Committee on Agriculture. Patrick was responsible for researching and drafting legislation on issues relating to food safety, farmer's markets, aquaculture and sustainable crop strategies. After his internship, he accepted a position as the North Florida Coordinator for the U. S. Senate race of Buddy MacKay in 1988. Mr. MacKay served as Florida’s Lieutenant Governor from 1990-1998.
In January 1989 through the 1990 election, Patrick was the South Florida political and fundraising coordinator for Bill Nelson's campaign for Governor. Mr. Nelson was subsequently elected Florida's Insurance Commissioner, Treasurer and Fire Marshal in 1994 and was re-elected in 1998.
From 1990 to 1995, Patrick was the Director of the Democratic Senate campaign committee. In this capacity, he was the political coordinator and adviser for all Senate Democrats.
Patrick has been a licensed investment banker since 1992 and has worked extensively in commercial lending, financing and insurance transactions. Recent notable transactions include the $1.5 billion credit line for the FRPCJUA, the Zurich policy portfolio transfer from the Florida Residential Property and Casualty Joint Underwriting Association (FRPCJUA) and the American International Group (AIG) policy portfolio transfer from the FRPCJUA. He is currently an alternate Board Member of the Florida Windstorm Underwriting Association.
He is a resident of the City of Fort Lauderdale where he lives with his wife, Michelle, and four children, Kevin, John, Rachel and David.
